Trump rejects claims he is 'cognitively impaired', insists he deliberately mixes up Obama and Biden and boasts that he 'ACED' his latest cognitive exam as he fires back at claims he is too old and brushes off recent gaffes

Former President Donald Trump bragged about having 'ACED' his cognitive test in a recent physical and claims his repeated remarks mixing up the names of President Barack Obama and Joe Biden was done 'sarcastically.'

Trump, 77, defended his mental acuity in a 150-word post on his Truth Social platform, days after he released the results of a letter from a New Jersey osteopath touting his 'exceptional' performance on a cognitive exam.

That release, on President Joe Biden's 81st birthday, followed a series of reports on Trump missteps during recent public speeches. That is itself a turn from repeated attention on Biden's own string of gaffes, misstatements, antiquated stories, and occasional difficultly immediately knowing which way to go after delivering remarks onstage.

'Whenever I sarcastically insert the name Obama for Biden as an indication that others may actually be having a very big influence in running our Country, Ron DeSanctimonious and his failing campaign apparatus, together with the Democrat’s Radical Left “Disinformation Machine,” go wild saying that “Trump doesn’t know the name of our President, (CROOKED!) Joe Biden. He must be cognitively impaired,' Trump wrote in his characteristic run-on style.

Former President Donald Trump, who has mixed up the names of Barack Obama and Joe Biden in recent public remarks, said he was speaking 'sarcastically.' He also bragged about having 'aced' a recent cognitive test

'No, I know both names very well, never mix them up, and know that they are destroying our Country,' he said, confronting his critics, who have included Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Biden campaign.

Trump was seeking to take on press reports of his repeated statements inserting Obama's name in place of Biden, who he hopes to face on the ballot in 2024.

In one such comment, he said,  'With Obama, we won an election they said couldn't be won,' he said. Trump defeated Obama's secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, in 2016, then lost to Biden in 2020.

In New Hampshire this month, he referenced Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who had given an interview, and said he was asked, 'What would you advise President Obama? The whole world seems to be exploding.'

According to Forbes, Trump has mixed up their names seven times in recent months.

After saying he substituted the name of the retired two-term Obama on purpose, Trump returned to a topic he has raised repeatedly in the past, saying he 'aced' his cognitive exam.

'Also, and as reported, I just took a cognitive test as part of my Physical Exam, and ACED it. Also ACED (a perfect score!) one taken while in the White House. Biden should take one so we can determine why he wants Open Borders, No Energy Independence, A Woke Military, High Inflation, No Voter I.D., Men playing In Women’s Sports, Only Electric Cars & Trucks, A Weaponized DOJ/FBI, and so many other CRAZY things!!!' Trump wrote.

Trump said President Biden should take a cognitive test

Nailed it! Trump bragged that he 'aced' his recent cognitive test. In one such prominent exam, participants are asked to name large animals that are pictured, as a way to screen out memory problems or other issues

Trump's post comes days after he released a letter by Dr. Bruce Aronwold attesting to his performance on the exam.

'I am pleased to report that President Trump's overall health is excellent. His physical exams were well within the normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional,' he wrote.

'In addition, his most recent extensive laboratory analysis remains well within normal limits and was even more favorable than prior testing in some of the most significant parameters, most likely secondary to weight reduction'.

When he was in the White House, Trump also bragged about acing a cognitive test, championing his performance in an interview with Chris Wallace.

He was believed to have taken the Montreal Assessment, known as MOCA. One question contains line drawings of three animals and asks respondents to identify which is which. It can be used to uncover deteriorating memory or cognitive function.

DeSantis, who Trump insulted as 'DeSanctimonious,' has called out Trump some of his mix-ups, including calling Orban the leader of Turkey instead of Hungary, and appearing to mix up George W. Bush and his brother Jeb.
