Two dead and three injured after man plows car into St. Louis Park restaurant's outdoor area in Minnesota

Two people were killed and three were injured after a driver plowed his car into a restaurant's outdoor patio in Minnesota.

Police in St. Louis Park said they responded to Park Tavern on Sunday evening just after 8pm, and the driver has been arrested for probable cause criminal vehicular homicide.

Surveillance footage showed the unidentified motorist entering the parking lot, but not into the restaurant, KSTP reports. 

Officials say he then tried to park before accelerating into the patio. 

Video from the scene showed overturned furniture and turf, with police cataloguing the evidence as Minnesota State Patrol conduct an accident reconstruction.

The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing, and neither the names of the victims nor the victims have been released.
