Los Angeles church built in 1981 has been destroyed by a massive blaze early Sunday morning.

The second-alarm fire engulfed the Victory Outreach Church in Pomona, just outside of Pasadena around 2.45am, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Dozens of firefighters worked to fight the inferno that spanned across the 12,000 square-foot building.

The Rev. Robert Garcia rushed to the scene and was told by fire officials that they believe the church will be a 'total loss.'

No injuries were reported and the flames was contained by 7am. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Victory Outreach Church in Pomona, Los Angeles went up in flames around 2.45am on Sunday

The 12,000 square-foot building was built in 1981 and was supposed to host a community outreach toy drive on Sunday evening

'Pastor, when it's all said and done, the building is going to be burned down, but the church is still going to be standing, because we're the church,' a member of the congregation told Garcia.

Many congressional members made it to the scene of the fire to support one another and pray.

An outreach event was planned for Sunday evening inside the church to give 500 toys to local children in need

According to a Facebook post by the Victory Outreach Pomona, that event is still set to take place, but in the parking lot across from the burnt building.

The intensity of the fire was so strong that at one point firefighters had to step back from the flames in case the old building collapsed.

'When they arrived on scene they had heavy smoke and fire showing through this old church,' Capt. Sheila Kelliher Berkoh with Los Angeles County Fire said.

Berkoh went on to say that firefighters were in there for about 20 minutes before the roof started to collapse and the flames thickened.

'So they had to go into defensive mode and defensive operation,' Berkoh said.

A GoFundMe page was also created to hep raise money to rebuild the church.

The massive blaze was contained around 7a.m. and no injuries were reported

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise donations to eventually rebuild the church

'Since 1981 this church has helped bring families and the community of Pomona together,' the page organizer, Monica Rivera said.

'It now needs the prayers and the help of the community to help rebuild together.'

Over 8,000 has been raised out of $500,000 donation goal.

'Even though we know in the end that something positive is going to come out of it, there's a process,' Rev. Garcia told KTLA5

Another disastrous fire broke out on Monday night at The California yacht Club in marina del Ray and left two Los Angeles firefighters injured.

The California Yacht Club was founded in 1922 and built in 1967. The clubhouse burned down on Monday night, but the many boats surrounding the club were intact

When crews arrived at the scene, thick smoke and flames engulfed the two-story building that was founded in 1922 and built in 1967.

The two male firefighters who were hurt suffered mild injuries while they battled the flames. They were taken to a local hospital, Los Angeles County Fire Department PIO Fred Fielding said.

Pictures revealed the now charred perimeter of the clubhouse, which according to the California Yacht Club, was where the fire damaged.

The many boats surrounding the club were intact, and the roof of the clubhouse also appeared to be untouched by the flames.
