Was this Tommy Fury's last-ditch attempt to keep his relationship with Molly-Mae Hague going? Star made HUGE public love declaration just weeks before his fiancée announced split

Tommy Fury appeared to make a last-ditch attempt to keep his relationship with fiancée Molly-Mae Hague going just weeks before she revealed they had split after five years together.

Three weeks ago, Molly-Mae, 25 was surprised when her professional boxer partner, also 25, arrived home with a ginormous bouquet of red roses and lilies for her in a very public declaration shared on Instagram Stories. 

The former creative director of PrettyLittleThing gave her fans on Instagram a close-up of the surprise gift and captioned the photo '1 year as a fiancé (sic)'.

However, on Wednesday, Molly-Mae shocked fans when she wrote a lengthy statement explaining she and Tommy had separated following months of recurring rumours.

She wrote: 'Never in a million years did I think I'd ever have to write this. After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.

'I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end. 

'I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority. 

'I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it's right to share this with you all. 

'Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time. I'll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae x.'

But, in July, Molly-Mae re-posted a video of the surprise engagement in black and white, and wrote alongside it: 'This literally feels like last week? Time is going to quickly it's scaring me.'

Tommy paid tribute the milestone on his Instagram, with a gushing post featuring a snap of the couple kissing with the caption: 'A year today since I asked the best question I have ever asked in my life. can't wait to spend forever with you. Happy anniversary baby'.

That same day, Molly shared a clip of the moment she said 'yes' to boyfriend Tommy and captioned her Instagram post: 'One year ago today I was tricked into going on a fake brand trip on which the love of my life would ask me to marry him.'

Molly-Mae and Tommy announced their engagement with a gorgeous black and white video of the proposal that took place on a picturesque cliffside.

Tommy surprised the influencer six months after they welcomed their daughter Bambi. 

The loved-up posts come after months of speculation and split rumours which the pair have been shutting down. 

In a YouTube video last month, the former Love Island star gushed about how 'amazing' Tommy is as a father.

In the clip, Molly-Mae also insisted he is 'everything she could wish him to be and more'.

The speculation began after Molly-Mae failed to wish Tommy a happy birthday on social media and prior to that had complained of a 'sex drought' during a Q&A video.

She revealed that the pair had not been intimate for almost a year after the birth of their first child, now 18 months old. 

Molly-Mae and Tommy sparked relationship concerns last year when she was seen without her engagement ring on multiple times.

Their 'rocky patch' came after Tommy's wild nights out in Dubai with Chris Brown left Molly-Mae 'mortified' by his partying behaviour but in February she seemingly suggested that Tommy's secret hand injury is what 'caused so many problems' within their family.

Last month the pair also put on a loved-up display as they stepped out together in Manchester. 

The pair looked as happy as ever laughing away with their arms around each other.

Molly-Mae looked casually chic in a cropped burgundy T-shirt, distressed leather jacket and baggy black trousers.

Meanwhile beside her Tommy cut a sporty figure in a grey hoodie and light blue shirts, teamed with trainers and white Nike socks.
