Wealthy LA father who pulled gun on masked intruders as they tried to break into his luxury home while his baby was inside reveals he has been STRIPPED of his firearm permit 'because he yelled at cops when they arrived'

A wealthy Los Angeles father who pulled a gun on masked intruders when they tried to break into his luxury home while his five-month-old baby was inside has revealed he's been stripped of his firearm permit.

In a video for the National Rifle Association (NRA), Vince Ricci said his concealed carry permit was 'revoked' despite him being confronted by two men 'pointing guns at my chest.'

'After successfully defending my home and my family and my five-month-old child, California has now decided to suspend my Second Amendment [rights],' Ricci said.

Ricci, an entrepreneur in LA who helms a photo studio, told Fox News the sheriff's office called him on Thursday telling him it was due to him 'yelling' at officers when they came to investigate.

He had previously blasted the LAPD for 'sloppy police work', including their alleged negligence in picking up casings scattered near his home as evidence.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the LAPD for comment.

On November 4 just after Ricci returned home to his gated LA home, two armed men jumped his fence and tried to force their way into his house.

Footage of the gunfight revealed the moment in which he is approached by one of the masked assailants at about 7.30pm.

In a swift attempt to defend himself, his wife, five-month-old and the nanny inside Ricci reached for his gun and started a shootout with the intruders.

Obtaining a concealed carry permit in California is more difficult than other states with Ricci telling Fox News Digital it took him months to process it.

In California residents over the age of 18 can legally carry firearms on private property and residences without a permit or license.

'My situation is unique because it happened at my front door, all on camera,' he said. 'But this happens time and time again all over the country…

'People sweep it under the rug because it doesn't behoove their political agenda. The fact is, evil will always exist.'

Ricci earlier revealed this wasn't the first time he'd been a target of criminals.

His home was broken into in June and his car was broken into the month before that.

A night prior to the shootout, Ricci revealed a group of criminals driving a Dodge Charger with no license plates had been allegedly targeting other homes in his neighborhood.

The NRA told Fox News Digital that the organization is 'proud to have Vince as a fellow NRA member' and called his permit being revoked 'reprehensible.'

'His decisive actions to protect his wife and daughter embody the core principles that NRA members fight for every day,' NRA spokesperson Billy McLaughlin said in a statement.

'It's reprehensible that California is shredding his Second Amendment rights after he defended his family.'

McLaughlin said that Governor Gavin Newsom and the Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon's pro-criminal policies have transformed LA and the wider state into 'a war zone.'

'The NRA stands with Vince and every responsible gun owner in California, firmly committed to defending their rights to protect their families and communities,' McLaughlin added.

The terrifying incident comes as crime in the Democrat-run city has spiked following the defund police movement.

A lack of resourcing for law enforcement has sparked an exodus of residents to Republican states such as Texas and Florida.

Ricci reacted immediately as he threw his hot tea at the suspect (pictured) and drew his gun out of his pants before he started to shoot with the two intruders

Home surveillance footage from the mid-city property where the average house price is more than $1 million shows Ricci locking his car in his driveway before starting to look for his keys to go inside to his awaiting family.

As he scrambles for his keys, two intruders are seen jumping over the moving fence that surrounds the home and one of them runs up behind him.

Ricci quickly turns around, throws his hot tea at the suspect just before pulling out his handgun and opening fire.

As shots rain down, the two masked robbers scatter as one fires back at the Ricci.

He then follows one suspect who hops over the side fence, while the other hops over the front gate and flees the scene.

Following the attack, Ricci and his family filed a police report with LAPD's Olympic Division.

Ricci wasn't sure if he struck either of the intruders, but told Fox11 at the time that if anyone else tried to harm him and his family again, 'they're going to die for trying to come in this house.'

According to Los Angeles crime statistics, from October 1 to October 28 there have been 718 robberies in the city.

There were a total of 7,111 robberies in 2023, higher than the number of reported robberies in 2022.

Overall crime rates in the Golden State have soared in recent times as flash mobs and looters raid storefronts.

A rise in homelessness and drug addiction has also plagued the area and has contributed to an uptick in crime.

In September California governor Gavin Newsom signed a law that added an 11 percent tax on top of the federal governments already implemented gun tax.

The law made California the only state in the US to have a separate tax on guns and ammunition.

The money collected from the increased tax rates are set to go toward security improvements at public school in the state, especially those in gang related areas.

Money from the federal tax on guns has been allocated to go toward wildlife conservation and hunter education programs for the past 100 years.

Homes in Mid-City Los Angeles run for a median sale price of $1.2m, according to Redfin.

It is unclear exactly where the homeowners house was or exactly how much it is worth at this time. DailyMail.com has reached out to Ricci for comment.

Mid-City has a split demographic of males and females and is a very family-oriented neighborhood with an overall population of 43,450.
