Woman believes she caught dead man's haunting last moments lurking outside her apartment - just hours before his body washed up in Bronx river

Haunting ring camera footage has emerged which may have captured a man's final hours alive before he was found washed up in a river in the Bronx.

The unidentified man was caught on camera at about 4.30pm on February 29, 2024, trying to get into a locked apartment building.

Just 18 hours later, about 11am on March 1, a man's body was pulled from the nearby Bronx River near Starlight Park wearing what appears to be the same distinct clothes as seen in the footage - a white Paramount t-shirt and red Nike jacket.

While the man's body was discovered five months ago, a New York City woman has only come forward this week with the video - posting the clip on social media.

She was previously unaware that an investigation was ongoing, and was compelled to speak out after coming across the unidentified person case, hoping that in doing so a grieving family can receive closure.

Police and the medical examiner have not yet formally identified him, but they have released an image of his face and the clothes he was wearing.

The man's appearance is eerily similar to the man shown in the footage.

A police spokesperson told DailyMail.com an investigation remains ongoing, and that identification of the body is 'pending proper family notification'.

'Upon arrival, officers observed an unconscious, unidentified and unresponsive male in the water. FDNY removed the aided from the water and EMS pronounced him deceased on scene,' police said, adding the medical examiner is tasked with confirming a cause of death.

Her ring camera video shows a man, who police believe is younger than 30, repeatedly coming up to her door and attempting to get inside.

In the vision from late February, the man, who police are still working to identify, appears to be wearing the same clothes he was found in on March 1, 2024

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the man in the ring camera is in fact the man who was pulled from Bronx River, but the woman said she is confident they are one and the same.

'He was literally in my building a couple of months ago wearing the exact clothes,' she said.

'He was trying to break into my door. I was freaking out.'

The woman said she didn't recognize him so told him - through the camera - to 'get the f**k away from my door', which initially prompted him to walk away.

She claimed that he said 'they sent me', which only confused and frightened her further.

'He's got a Nike top on, some fly sneakers, there's no way he could be homeless, so I'm over there yelling and screaming at him telling him to get out of my hallway,' she said.

'He came back to my door 4 times... literally from 3pm to 4.30 when I had to go get my kids.'

The body was also found wearing this 'red Nike zip-up hooded sweatshirt, size medium' - identical to the jacket the man is wearing in the ring camera footage

The woman said she has since turned over all of her ring camera footage to the police, and contacted the medical examiner's office.

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, the man is estimated to be aged between 17 and 25, and was 'recovered from the Bronx River near Starlight Park'.

'There are no leads to his identity,' his profile reads.

The man's body has long, curly, dark hair, with brown eyes and no tattoos.

The body was found wearing a 'red Nike zip-up hooded sweatshirt, size medium, white T-shirt, with "Paramount" movie logo on front, size small, black pants with white stripes down sides of legs and black Nike Air Jordans with red details.
