Woman 'kept as a sex slave for four years by "Poland's Josef Fritzl" was hospitalised whenever she failed to satisfy his perverted demands and was hosed down with cold water at night'

A woman who was held captive and raped in a barn for over four years in Poland by a man she met on the internet was hospitalised whenever she failed to satisfy his demands and would be hosed down with cold water, it has emerged. 

The 30-year-old victim, only known as Malgorzata, who met Mateusz J in 2019 after connecting on a dating site, was reportedly held in a disused animal barn, and was subject to regular beatings, rape, and mental abuse for four years. 

According to Polish outlet Fakt, the woman was taken to hospital several times during her four years of captivity for different injuries, including a broken arm and a broken leg. 

She eventually broke her silence when she was brought to hospital once again to treat a dislocated shoulder last week where she alerted staff, who then called the police. 

The woman claimed that she was injured after not meeting his sexual expectations. 

The victim, who was also impregnated by her kidnapper,  was also taken hospital to give birth, but was forced to give up her child for adoption.

'I couldn't tell the doctors the truth, I was afraid, and he threatened me that if I complained, it would get even worse,' the victim told the Telegraph.

It is also reported that the suspect would take the woman outside every night and hose her down with cold water. 

The woman, then in her 20s, had met the suspect online and had traveled to visit him in the village of Gaiki, near Glogow in western Poland.

As reported by Fakt, the victim was genuinely in love with Mateusz, who took her from Leszno, where she lived.

She had left her children from a previous relationship with her parents when she went to visit Mateusz, but did not return.  

Prosecutors say Malgorzota had been held captive in a stone barn previously used to house animals, only four metres away from Mateusz J's unsuspecting neighbours. 

They said she had no access to hygiene products, running water, a toilet, electricity or heating during her captivity in the stone structure devoid of light.

They added that he humiliated and controlled the victim, keeping her in complete isolation and only bringing her outside with a hood over her eyes. 

Locals described the suspect, who was arrested this week and is facing a 25-year prison sentence for his crimes, as a 'loner' and a 'freak'.

The case has been compared to one of Austria's most infamous crimes, which saw Josef Fritzl keep his daughter imprisoned beneath his home. 

The sickening criminal then went on to father seven children with his daughter in the dungeon. 

Malgorzata was allegedly taken to hospital on several occasions over the course of her captivity. 

On one occasion Mateusz J allegedly broke her arm and her leg. 

Last year, she also previously required surgery for damage to her anus after it was left scarred by a stake. 

Mateusz J, who has denied any wrongdoing, was arrested and charged with mental, physical, and sexual abuse on August 30.
