In an awkward moment during a post-game press conference, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was left in disbelief as an unidentified reporter was caught on a hot mic.

As one reporter was asking about Reese breaking the double-double streak record held by Candace Parker, background noise caught an awkward conversation from someone else on the call.

Overheard was a woman's voice asking the question, '[Are we] ever going to have an intimate relationship?'

A man's voice then cuts in and says, 'Oh my, that's an uncomfortable topic.'

A confused Reese says, 'Excuse me' before staff asked the reporter to repeat their question.

The man's voice then cuts in clearer, saying, 'I never had any interest in being intimate with anyone'.

Reese then covered her mouth in shock, with coach Teresa Weatherspoon looking confused and teammate Marina Mabrey looking stunned then saying 'I told you they were being weird on that'.

As staff eventually muted all the microphones on the call, Reese was seen saying 'Oooo they finna get fired.'

Eventually, the issue was resolved and the reporter was able to ask the question again.

Outside the conference call, it was an eventful night for Reese - who now owns the WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles by any player in the league's history with 13.

Parker's streak spanned the 2009 and 2010 seasons but Reese - the No 7 overall pick - went one better while still in her rookie year.

The former LSU star was unable to prevent the Sky from slipping to a 84-71 defeat by the Storm on Sunday night.

But Reese still put in an historic performance, amassing 17 points and 14 rebounds.
