Stephen A. Smith did not mince his words when offering his verdict on Darren Waller's music video, which he released following his divorce from Kelsey Plum.

The New York Giants tight end produced a song - and a music video - entitled 'Who Knew (Her Perspective)'. The video, which even starred a lookalike of Plum, hit social media earlier this week.

Waller is considering retiring from the sport, a little over a month after news of his divorce from two-time WNBA champion Plum went public.

On Friday, during the latest episode of the Stephen A. Smith Show, the ESPN host played a clip of the song - and the video - to his fans.

Smith was seen with his head in his hands as the song played out - until he decided enough was enough.

In the video, Waller is seen having issues with a brunette who stabs him in the back

'Can y'all please get that out of my ear?' he said, only for the song to continue for another few seconds.

'Get it out of my ear!' Smith then shrieked. 'Yes I'm screaming at my producers - did you hear how that man sounds? You don't keep something like that in somebody's ear.'

He added: 'Somebody has to say it so I'm going to say it: ladies and gentleman, that s*** was so bad, that might be why she left. Lord...

'Let me not make fun. I'm only making fun of his voice - not his situation.'

Waller and Plum tied the knot back in March of 2023 before splitting earlier this year

Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones was similarly scathing about Waller's song, replying to the video on Twitter, saying: 'This s**t terrible slime'.

Plum announced their divorce - after a year of marriage - with an emotional statement last month.

'I'm devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it's time to go,' she said.

'God has given me such an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends. One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day.'

Later in his show, Smith - who has never been married - offered relationship advice to his followers.
