ESPN's broadcast of the NBA In-Season Tournament final took a drastic turn when Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley asked an awkward question to show host Kevin Hart.

Beverley was appearing as a guest on NBA Unplugged hosted by the comedian Hart, when he very suddenly asked a question about Josh Giddey - the Oklahoma City Thunder guard accused of having an alleged inappropriate relationship with a minor.

'I've got a daughter and I like to call myself a girl dad. What do you think about the Josh Giddey situation?,' Beverley asked Hart point-blank.

A stunned Hart didn't know how to respond, turning to his co-hosts - Joey 'J'Dub' Wells, Will Horton, and Na'im Lynn - to see if they had anything to say.

After Horton tried to keep everyone out of trouble - talking about reports on what he'd seen - Beverley doubled down.

'I read that too, I said what y'all think about it? That was my question,' Beverley replied - causing the panel to start chuckling at his persistence.

Hart, sensing the need to take control of the situation, replied, 'Pat, I heard your question, but imma tell you what I do real well - deflect.'

With the couch laughing at Hart's response, the comedian continued, 'I'm a brand Pat... I'll text you and I'll give you my real thoughts.

'But right now, on NBA Unplugged, I'm going to keep it as commercial as I possibly can.'

At that point, Hart tried changing the subject by asking Beverley if he liked the color of the blue-and-red In-Season Tournament courts.

Beverley would seemingly not let the issue go saying that he liked the color of the courts, 'but not jail courts'.

After that, Hart joked that he was kicking him off the show: 'I haven't sweated this entire game, Pat. As soon as you asked me that question, a piece of sweat dropped down my back.'
