Football legend Wayne Rooney has again left his new gaming team-mates in hysterics with the Man United and England legend brushing off a jibe on a live stream.

Rooney last weekend was announced as the latest star signing for EA Sports FC Pro Club Girth N Turf - which was founded by YouTubers Angry Ginge and Yung Filly.

The 38-year-old has since joined his new team-mates on live streams of the game, with Man United's record goalscorer quick to crack jokes.

Rooney caused his team-mates to burst into laughter during the latest stream, reacting quickly after a foul mouthed comment from the chat was read out.

‘For some reason I am just being called “you are a fat granny s******” apparently, cheers mate,' said Angry Ginge - real name Morgan Burtwistle. ‘Someone is obviously not very happy that Real Madrid won.’

Rooney was quick to respond with the 38-year-old making the deadpan comment 'I don't think that was aimed at you'.

‘I don’t think that was aimed at you either ginge,' added Yung Filly, before descending into laughter.

The 38-year-old had previously been targeted by opposition fans with chants during matches in his career, referencing national newspaper stories in 2004.

Rooney, then aged 18, had made headlines after it was reported he had paid £140 for sex with prostitute Charlotte Glover, then 21.

It was also claimed in 2004 that at a brothel in Liverpool he slept with Gina McCarrick, then 37, and grandmother Patricia Tierney, then 48, who wore a rubber catsuit and was known as the 'Auld Slapper'.

The latter later denied these claims, but Wayne did admit to sleeping with unnamed prostitutes at the brothel.

Rooney's light-hearted response, brushing off the jibe, is not the first time he has caused his new gaming team-mates to burst into laughter.

On his debut on the stream, Rooney said 'If yous [sic] want us back I'll be back.' Yung Filly replied yes straight away.

Rooney was met be a joke from Angry Ginge - who declared: 'You can come back tomorrow, mate. Don't be s*** again.'

This caused Rooney to respond with a light-hearted jab of his own as he hit back with: 'Ah, you ginger ****!'.

Rooney had returned to play on EA Sports FC Pro Clubs again for the team Girth N Turf

The Man United and England legend had stunned YouTuber Angry Ginge with a foul mouthed light hearted jibe on his debut last week

Earlier on Sunday, Rooney had been revealed as Girth N Turf's latest Pro Clubs signing

Stunned by Rooney's reply, it caused instant laughter from Burtwistle, whose disbelief at the cutting remark couldn't have been any more obvious.

Rooney is the latest sporting star to have represented Girth N Turf, with teenage darts sensation Luke Littler another to have played Pro Clubs online for them.

The England legend had been due to make his punditry debut for Match of the Day last weekend before having to withdraw due to injury.

He was in line to make his debut on the iconic BBC show last Saturday but was forced to pull out, with Martin Keown filling in for him.

And the former Everton striker revealed he had to cancel his appearance from the show after suffering an injury while on holiday.

Rooney wrote on X: 'Gutted not to be making my debut on the iconic @BBCMOTDshow tonight, it’s something I have wanted to do since I was little.

'Unfortunately I have sustained a painful back injury during a holiday with my family but I look forward to being part of the team in the near future.

'Good luck to Gary Lineker and the guys for tonights [sic] show and see you soon.'

Host of the show Lineker responded by saying: They’ll be other opportunities. Get fit soon.'

Since retiring in 2021, Rooney has managed Derby, MLS side DC United and had an ill-fated stint at Championship club Birmingham City.

He was sacked by the Blues in January after less than three months in charge, and is currently taking a break from the game to be with his family.

Rooney is keen to get back on the touchline soon, though, and has been linked with a possible move to Saudi Arabia to follow in the footsteps of his ex-international team-mate Steven Gerrard.

The England appeared as a pundit for TNT Sports last month for their coverage of Manchester United's win over Everton.
