Jermaine Jenas found himself well and truly humbled ahead of Newcastle's clash with Paris Saint-Germain as TNT host Laura Woods made a joke at his expense.

Pre-match coverage returned following an ad-break and Woods was introducing former Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given, who had joined the punditry panel.

'Welcome back to the Parc des Princes, we have a proper Newcastle legend alongside us, sorry Jermaine!' Woods said.

Jenas' face told the full story as he was stunned, before turning his back and appearing to walk off screen.

Woods, who is in stitches at her slip, was then backed up by Rio Ferdinand, who said: 'Get your coat JJ, come back later!'

Even Given got involved, telling Jenas: 'There's a taxi out there now!'

Jenas eventually strolled back to his position pitchside with his tail between his legs.

'I thought he did well for Newcastle!' Given claimed, trying to bail Woods out as she couldn't stop laughing.

Once the laughter subsided the quartet analysed a huge game for Newcastle as they look to keep their Champions League dream alive.

Defeats home and away to Borussia Dortmund have hampered chances of progress, with the other results so far a draw away to AC Milan and a win over PSG.

PSG boss Luis Enrique was in awe of Newcastle's weekend win over Chelsea, a 4-1 demolition job, but PSG went into Tuesday night's game as heavy favourites, which both Given and Jenas acknowledged.
