David Moyes has the full backing of the West Ham board, despite some supporters calling for a change amid complaints over his brand of football.
The 5-0 humiliation at Fulham only added to the criticism, with ‘Moyes Out’ trending on social media, but the club are taking the wider picture into account.
West Ham are ninth in the Premier League and will top their Europa League group as long as avoid defeat by Freiburg at the London Stadium on Thursday.
They are set to face Bristol City in the third round of the FA Cup, and will travel to Liverpool next week for the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
David Moyes retains the full support of the West Ham board despite a 5-0 loss to Fulham
The Hammers are ninth in the Premier League but were thoroughly outplayed on Sunday
Asked on Monday if they are still supporting Moyes in spite of the growing unrest from fans, one senior source replied: ‘One hundred per cent.’
Prior to the 5-0 loss at Fulham, West Ham were unbeaten in their previous four games, including their come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Tottenham.
Moyes survived multiple calls for his head last season, securing wins whenever he faced the sack. West Ham beat Everton 2-0, Nottingham Forest 4-0 and Southampton 1-0 – all matches which were described as ‘must-wins’.
The Europa Conference League triumph over Fiorentina in June ensured Moyes went into the final season of his contract, though there was no offer of an extension.
West Ham are prepared to wait until the end of the season before making a decision on their managerial situation.
