Former cross-code star Mat Rogers has backed Wallabies fly-half Carter Gordon to succeed in the NRL, insisting he will be a 'bloody good rugby league player'.
Gordon, 23, is the latest Wallaby to switch footy codes, joining the Gold Coast Titans on a two-year deal from 2025 onwards.
He was the starting No.10 for the Wallabies at the disastrous 2023 World Cup after a surprise call-up from Eddie Jones - but it hasn't stopped him chasing a career in the NRL.
He featured in the Rebels' final game last weekend, but with the Super Rugby club shuttered by Rugby Australia, players have been forced to seek contracts elsewhere.
Gordon cited the 'direction rugby league was taking' for his decision to join the Titans on a two-year deal, having played eight times for the Wallabies since making his international debut against the Springboks in 2023.

'He'll be a bloody good rugby league player,' Rogers told Wide World of Sports.
'A great running game, a bit Matt Burton like, a great kicking game, great hands. He's going to have to learn a little bit and get fitter and stronger because it's a bit of a different game.
'But I've got total faith that he'll make it. It's all about squaring players up and putting players in a hole - that doesn't change whether you're playing rugby league or rugby union.
'That's just ability and he's got that ability. He has to understand the structures of rugby league and learn what's important and what's not. Turnovers in rugby union don't quite hurt as much as they do in rugby league.'
Rogers said there was no question that Gordon was a star and he has no doubts about him being able to adapt to the game.
'I've spent a bit of time on the sidelines this year watching him. He's got ability, he can play footy. League is a little bit slower than rugby union when the ball's in play, but league is more constant,' Rogers said.
'When ball is in play then rugby is pretty quick and when you're a ball player in that position you've got to think quick. So I don't think he'll have an issue with that when it comes to rugby league.'

Gold Coast Titans coach Des Hasler said Gordon was a player who 'backs himself' and is confident he will transition successfully to the NRL.
'Carter has competed well in rugby, representing his country and playing at the World Cup,' Hasler said.
'What has impressed me is his attitude to test himself and take on the challenge of switching to a new code. 'He's a talented player who backs himself.'
Gordon will join the Titans in 2025 on a two-year deal.
