Spain face Gareth Southgate's England in the final of Euro 2024 and fans tuning in tonight should not be surprised to hear boos ringing around the stadium when Spain's Marc Cucurella gets on the ball.

The Chelsea defender has been one of La Roja's standout players on the pitch throughout the tournament.

Starting in all but one of their games on their route to the final against England. 


Despite being one of the best defenders at the tournament, the Chelsea player has had the crowd against him ever since his quarter-final performance where they played hosts Germany.

Cucurella's has been receiving boos from the crowd since La Roja's quarter-final win against Germany, when he was involved in a controversial moment.

The reason behind the endless booing aimed at the left-back is because of his handball against Germany in their crunch quarter-final clash.

De le Fuente's men knocked out the hosts in a mouth watering clash, thanks to Mikel Merino 119th minute winner in extra-time.

However German fans were left steaming at the result, since they felt they should have been awarded a penalty when the game was still level at 1-1.

The hosts had a strong case for a penalty when Jamal Musiala's on target strike hit the extended arm of the Chelsea defender.

The penalty was not given by English referee Anthony Taylor however as the Spaniard's arm was deemed to be in a natural position

In Spain's following game against France in the semi-final, the 25-year-old was the subject to loud boos from the German fans in attendance any time he got on the ball. 

Fans watching tonight should not be surprised if the La Roja left-back is once again given a hard time by the fans in attendance at the final tonight.
