Wild footage has emerged of a driver attempting to stop a runaway trailer after it took off down a hill.
The footage was taken outside of a home at Redwood Park, in northeast Adelaide, shows Scott Bradshaw, 26,attempting to return an excavator to a friend on Sunday.
Mr Bradshaw had accidentally forgotten to put chocks under the wheels of the trailer carrying the excavator when he detached it from his ute.
Now free to the laws of gravity, the trailer rolled backward down the street despite Mr Bradshaw using all of his might to bring it to a stop.
However he was unsuccessful, having to let go of the trailer as it ploughed through a neighbour's fence before coming to a stop.

Mr Bradshaw said he forgot to put the chocks on the trailer after becoming distracted by his crying baby.
He can be heard grunting as he attempts to regain control of the runaway trailer.
'(I) held on for deer life,' Mr Bradshaw told 7News.
Despite skiing on concrete for some time, falling to the ground and having one of the trailer's wheels roll over him, Mr Bradshaw was cleared of any major injuries.
His mate who was watching the accident occur remotely in real time through the CCTV footage, Shane Stanford, was just relieved his mate was able to walk away unharmed.
'I didn't want him to be run over by the tire, (but) it managed to get over him in the end and he could've been seriously hurt. I'm glad he's not' Mr Stanford said.
Mr Bradford said that he was happy that there were no injuries, but his major concern was how much trouble he would be in with his 'missus'.
