Wimbledon fans have mocked Emma Raducanu after she was spotted in practice a day after pulling out of her doubles match alongside Andy Murray

Murray had intended to play his last matches at the tournament with the 21-year-old English star in a celebratory climax to his stunning career.

However, Raducanu pulled out of their match against Marcelo Arevalo and Zhang Shuai just hours before the estimated start time due to issues with her wrist.

The 2021 US Open winner is set to face New Zealand's  Lulu Sun in the last-16 of the women's singles and on Sunday undertook final preparations ahead of her Centre Court appearance.

And fans have taken to social media to mock Raducanu, with some claiming her wrist has 'magically healed'.

Andy Murray's Wimbledon career is over after Raducanu's mixed doubles withdrawal

Raducanu pulled out of her doubles alongside Murray due to a problem with her wrist

One saind: 'Her wrist seems just fine now...', while another posted: 'Wrist seems ok'.

'That right wrist has magically healed', a third fan posted on X.

Following her withdrawal from the doubles, Raducanu said: 'Unfortunately I woke up with some stiffness in my right wrist this morning, so therefore I have decided to make the very tough decision to withdraw from the mixed doubles tonight.

'I'm disappointed as I was really looking forward to playing with Andy but got to take care.'

Mail Sport understands that Murray is 'so disappointed' to be unable to play one last time at Wimbledon, where he twice won the men's singles event - in 2013 and 2016 - as well as Olympic gold at London 2012.

Meanwhile, Judy Murray described the news as 'astonishing' in a post on social media following Raducanu's decision.

After the decision was made public sports presenter Marcus Buckland wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: 'Astonishing news that Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her mixed doubles match with Andy Murray. She's citing soreness in her right wrist.

'It means Murray has played his last match at Wimbledon. Oh dear!'

This sparked a response from Andy Murray's mother, Judy, who wrote: 'Yes, astonishing.'

Murray, who was knocked out of the men's doubles with brother Jamie, insisted after his match on Thursday that there would be no change of heart in his retirement decision, saying: 'I know that it's time now. I'm ready for that.'

He will head off on a family holiday before preparing for the final event of his career at the Olympics in Paris, where he is entered in singles and doubles with Dan Evans.

Raducanu, meanwhile, must hope the problem does not derail her Wimbledon run, with the 21-year-old now fancied to reach at least the quarter-finals.
