For many, Wimbledon is the pinnacle of the tennis calendar with the tournament marked as the most prestigous among the grand slams.

But world number 225 Maxime Janvier was left feeling less than impressed with his experience at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

It was the Frenchman's first forray into the main draw at The Championships having come through qualifying with wins over Yu Hisou Hu, Emilio Nava and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

His time at the tournament wouldn't last long though as he was beaten in straight sets by China's Zhang Zhizhen.

Despite the first round exit, Janvier still collected a solid £60,000 pay day just for making it to the first round.

The French tennis star was left feeling frustrated by the prize money and locker room rules

That is not an insignificant amount of money for mid-ranking contender such as Janvier, but it appeared the 27-year-old was left frustrated with his experience in SW19 as a whole.

The Challenger Tour regular expressed his disappointment following the loss as he seemed to point out some inequalities, saying: 'We are not all treated the same here. I learned, for example, that there are two locker rooms: one for the seeds and one for the others.

'I don't know why; I'm discovering things, Is it me who is different? I don't know, but that's what disgusted me.

'I don't know why I would be a rebel; I'm just stating things. The allocation of wild cards, points, and even prize money, everything is there.

'Why do I focus on the money? Because that's what's left. Mark Lajal [world No269], if he beats [Carlos] Alcaraz, he will have only taken 45 points.

'He will have to win back a lot. There is no stability. The system is very tough.'

It is not the first time Janvier has made headlines at this year's Wimbledon after going viral during the qualifiers.

Following his second-round win in qualifying he was heard shouting for the money as he moved closer to the main draw.

He would secure his place in the draw with a win over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard where he screamed 'the house' in his native language.
