Los Angeles' District Attorney George Gascon has promoted a self-professed looter to serve as Chief of Staff for the largest prosecutorial office in the country.
George Gascon, who's famed for his progressive views, announced on Friday that he will be assigning Tiffiny Blacknell to the Chief of Staff position in his office.
Blacknell, a former public defender, regularly speaks of her support of defunding the police - referring to LAPD officers as 'barbarians' and claiming they are an 'occupying army'.
The anti-police activist has posed wearing T-shirts saying bold statements like 'the police are trained to kill us' and 'they can't kill us all' in selfies taken for her social media.
The Los Angeles native proudly admitted in a 2020 Facebook post to being a part of LA's notorious 1992 Rodney King riots against police brutality, writing: 'I was a looter in 1992.'

Blacknell is outspoken in her support of defunding the police - even referring to LAPD officers as 'barbarians' and claiming they are an 'occupying army'
'When the opportunity arose, we took some sh*t. It was one of the most formative moments of my life,' Blacknell confessed.
In her confession, which came amid 2020's Black Lives Matter protests, Blacknell told those who were upset about the rampant looting in Santa Monica and West Hollywood: 'Cry me a river!'
'Please don't come on my page complaining about protestors or looters. Don't text me SH*T about the Whole Foods in West Hollywood and your beloved Santa Monica.'
Blacknell is also against prisons - stating 'prison is obsolete. We need to reimagine America without it.'
Her career has been riddled with controversy, and includes a 2020 incident in which she went behind the backs of the prosecutor and victim's family in a gang murder case to negotiate a 'sweetheart' plea deal with the defendant.
Gascon's choice of chief of staff is not surprising.
In May it was revealed that Gascon was accused of letting 10,000 cases pile up and driving scores of prosecutors to quit, with the City of Angels fast-developing a reputation for soaring crime, leaving its residents terrified.

Described as an 'authoritarian' and 'toxic' manager, Gascon is said to have driven talent away, demoted top lawyers and fought anyone with opposing views, multiple sources who have worked with the DA said.
Gascon's 'woke' policies have caused public distrust, according to a former LA prosecutor - who said generous plea deals are allowing criminals to get out of jail without serving hard time or crimes are not being prosecuted at all.
He attempted to save face and prove he's a tough guy by making an example or Tory Lanez in August by demanding increase on the maximum sentence available for the Canadian musician who was jailed for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
Gascon’s office had urged a 13-year sentence, claiming any less would ‘endanger the public’, but was accused of singling out the musician to save his own embattled career.
