Wolves are reportedly set to accept West Ham's £40million bid for captain Max Kilman.

As reported by The Athletic, West Ham returned with an improved offer for the defender after previously having a bid turned down, with Newcastle also having an offer rejected.

Last year Wolves rejected a bid from Napoli for Kilman.

New West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is set to be reunited with Kilman, with the pair having previously worked together at Wolves.

Lopetegui was appointed as Wolves boss in November 2022 before leaving in August 2023.

Kilman has been at Wolves since 2018 and has made over 150 appearances for the club.

He previously played non-league football for Maidenhead United.

West Ham have already been active in this transfer window, securing the signing of Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras for £19.2million. The 18-year-old is capable of playing as a winger or an attacking midfielder.

The Hammers have also signed goalkeeper Wes Foderingham on a free transfer.
