Jonny Otto's Wolves future has been plunged into jeopardy after he was banned from the club's training ground after an 'incident' in training last week.

The Spanish full-back will not be involved in their upcoming games, according to manager Gary O'Neil.

He was left out of the squad that lost 2-1 to Arsenal despite being a regular on the bench for Gary O'Neil's side, though he has only featured three times.

O'Neil said: 'Jonny won't be in the squad. There was a training ground incident last week that's being dealt with by the club.

'If – or when – he's back available, we'll let everybody know. At this moment in time he won't be available for the coming games.

Gary O'Neil explained that while he is involved in addressing the matter, people above him are dealing with the situation

'I'd rather not go into thing in public. Things happen at training grounds and at football clubs a lot.

'He is not with us at the moment. He’s not training with us. I’m involved with everything but people above me are also dealing with the situation.

'We will update you when he’s back around. I can’t update you any more than that at the moment.'

Otto joined Wolves when they were promoted to the Premier League and played regularly in their two seventh-placed finishes under Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, his influence has faded since then and he has had to settle for being a more bit-part player.

He was expected to leave the club in the summer but could not find a move.

His only Premier League outing came against Manchester City, when he was introduced as a late substitute, but he has featured in both of their Carabao Cup ties.

Otto's contract expires in the summer of 2025.
