His brother Taylor 'Bo Dallas' opened up about the heartache his family felt when they learned of Wyatt's untimely death.
Speaking to the camera in the 'Becoming immortal' documentary Taylor details the moment himself and the rest of his family were informed of the tragic news.
Delivering his story with a shaky, defeated voice throughout Taylor recalls the day he went to the hospital and was told his brother was no longer with him.
'As soon as we walked in they pulled us in a room alone. The doctor walked in and it's like something you see a million times in movies but you really don't know what it feels like till it happens' said Taylor.
'They said we got bad news, he's gone.'
'It's like time slowed down, I could see the reaction of everybody in the room. My mum and dad crumbling, my sister she's got her baby wrapped to her chest and she's falling.'
At the time the unimaginable news was delivered, Taylor details how all he wanted to do was breakdown but he knew he had to pull it together and find strength for the sake of his family who were all hurting.
'I've never been more sad but something in me and I still think to this day that it was Windham - something in me gave me the strength to go stop, you need to hold them (family) up.'
'He gave me strength in a moment where I would think I would crumble and I really believe it was him and he was telling me, be there for mom, hold her.'
Windham passed away on August, 24, 2023 aged just 36-years-old. The American wrestler died of a heart attack brought on by a dose of Covid-19 he had been previously suffering from.
He left behind his two daughters Cadyn and Kendyl, who he shared with his ex-wife Samantha Rotunda, as well as his fiancee JoJo Offerman.
Windham's family have a longstanding history within the WWE. Taylor and Windham's dad Mike Rotunda, uncle Barry Windham and grandfather Blackjack Mulligan were all a part of the WWE.
Both Mike and Barry will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this week, whilst Taylor 'Bo Dallas' hinted at a shock return to the WWE in the documentary so he carries on the families legacy.
