New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has lifted the lid on his gameday rituals, including his very specific eating habits.

The 51-year-old, who has managed the famous MLB franchise since 2018, often makes headlines for his antics in the dugout.

However, the former infielder has now given fans a glimpse behind the scenes, revealing how he prepares to watch his Yankees stars at bat.

'Just get ready to play,' Boone responded with a confident grin when asked about his pregame routine in footage exclusive to DailyMail.com.

Boone, who played in MLB for 13 seasons from 1997 to 2009 including a stint in the Bronx, also revealed that he only gets through the one bag on sunflower seeds during a game.

And that one bag will contain simple flavoring as Boone revealed that he prefers his seeds 'straight just like my potato chips'.

The manager also isn't one to experiment with his gum flavors either as he admitted he opts for a sugar-free brand.

Boone is regularly spotted chomping on gum in the dugout but he had Yankees fans pleading with him to get in the bullpen with his angry gum-tossing antics last season.

The Yankees manager was thrown out by home plate at Rogers Center during a game against divisional rivals, the Toronto Blue Jays, in May 2023 after he argued a 1-1 pitch to Aaron Judge.

As he exited for the dugout, Boone took his wad of gum out from his mouth and threw it towards the padding.

Boone started in the MLB with the Cincinnati Reds in 1997 before bringing the curtain down on his career in the majors with the Houston Astros.

He was named an All-Star in 2003 during his final season with the Reds before he was acquired by the Yankees.
