Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was benched after yet another woeful performance in New York's 32-6 blowout loss to AFC East rival Buffalo Bills.

Wilson finished the game throwing 7-15, 81 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and a 57.9 passer rating before he was benched for backup quarterback Tim Boyle with 2:17 remaining in the third quarter.

The 24-year-old QB was benched several times last season by Jets head coach Robert Saleh due to repeated poor performances, before being demoted to backup duty once the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers in the off-season.

Wilson was then thrust back into the lineup after Rodgers was injured only four plays into the season, and has led the team to a 4-6 record, while throwing 183-306, 1,863 yards, five touchdowns, six interceptions.

'I'm frustrated, but I get it,' Wilson said of being benched after the game. 'Gotta score, gotta be in games. When it's consecutive games of doing nothing on offense... we're not scoring.'

Wilson played yet another abysmal game as the Jets were pulverized by the Buffalo Bills

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he was unsure who would start the Jets' game on Friday

'When things aren't getting done, changes gotta be made and I understand that.

Before Wilson registered a touchdown pass to running back Breece Hall during the second quarter of action, the Jets had gone 12 quarters without scoring a touchdown, but Saleh had remained supportive of the struggling young signal caller.

In regard to Sunday's offensive disaster Wilson said: 'Yea it just felt like one of those games where we couldn't do anything. It felt like one of those games everything felt really hard. I thought the coaches had a good gameplan... everyone's battling but it felt tough today.'

During his post-game press conference Saleh changed his tune up for one of the few times this season as he condemned the offense. 'I don't think anyone did anything today,' he said before adding, 'It's definitely an offense that needs to get better. Let's put it that way.'

Saleh did still manage to commend Boyle's effort during his few minutes of action towards the end of the game.

'I thought Tim [Boyle] came in, he was decisive, he got rid of the ball...He did some good things' Saleh said to reporters following the game.

After checking into the game Boyle was 7-14, 33 yards, and an interception

Saleh also stated he wasn't ready to make a decision on the quarterback position going forward. Outside of Boyle, the Jets also possess journeyman QB Trevor Siemian on their practice squad.

'We're gonnna watch the tape and we'll make a decision tomorrow...We're gonna watch the tape and we'll make a decision tomorrow,' said Saleh.

One of Saleh's most telling answers - or non-answers - regarding the QB situation came after a reporter informed him that Wilson failed to complete a pass to one of the Jets wide receivers during the game and asked then coach 'how is that even possible.'

Saleh responded: 'I don't have an answer for that. Obviously we'll go back & watch all the tape. None of it, whether it's separation, being more decisive,…none of it was good enough.'

Wilson also tripped while running to the huddle during the second quarter.
