Federal court worker and influencer moans about office return after five years following Trump's executive order

1 day ago 3

A federal court worker and influencer has gone viral after she shared her distress about having to return to the office five days a week.

Genesis Cuesta, an assessment specialist at the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency, took to TikTok to express her outrage, saying she was 'upset' and 'so mad' at Trump's executive order.

'It happened... what a way to end the week,' Cuesta said in a now-deleted TikTok.

'Five o'clock on a Friday, got our notice, effective March 10th, we're back in the office five days a week - no telework, and that's the most f****d thing.'

Aside from her work at the federal agency, Cuesta works as an influencer, listing her favorite finds on Amazon for a commission on any purchases done through her shared links.

Cuesta continued: 'Not only did you issue this executive order, Cheeto, but this executive order trumps, pun intended, and rescinds any previously agreed upon telework agreements.

'So before, I was able to telework once a week, when I was in the office every day, now no more.

'I am so upset, I am so mad.'

This DC bureaucrat is outraged she’s gone to have to go in to work every day.

She’s deeply concerned for all the parents who now have to figure out child care!

The federal worker went on to say she felt bad for parents who will have to go back to the office.

'Honestly I also feel for the parents, they're going to need to figure out child care, they're going to have to commute. So many people don't live in DC and have to drive so far every single day,' she added.

'Like, this f***ing sucks. This sucks! And the crazy thing is, we've only just begun... We're just getting started in all of this f***ery.'

Cuesta deleted her Linked In after her video went viral and sparked widespread criticism.

One X user said: 'If you are at home taking care of the kids you aren’t doing the government job you are being paid for. I know it’s tough but that is real life.

'Covid thing. there is no covid so get back in the office. because there’s no way you’re 100% productive working from home while doing the laundry.'

When reached by DailyMail.com on Monday, an irritated-sounding Cuesta said: 'Oh God, no comment.'

It comes after some federal government workers vowed to boycott struggling businesses near their offices after Trump banned remote working.

'I am so upset, I am so mad,' Cuesta said about having to return to the office

In a now-deleted Reddit post titled 'Boycott using local businesses around work site if forced back to office, several federal discussed how to fight back against Trump's order.

'For those that end up being forced back to their respective offices I would avoid patronizing the local businesses in those areas,' the original poster said.

'Bring your own lunch to avoid using the eateries and grocery stores, avoid parking in pay parking (use mass transit if available), and don't buy anything at the shops or has stations.'

Trump has ordered federal workers to return to the office five days a week and weakened job protections for civil servants, the first salvoes in his campaign to gut the federal bureaucracy.

The one-two punch would force large numbers of white-collar government employees to forfeit remote working arrangements, reversing a trend that took off in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a brief statement posted to the White House website, Trump ordered all heads of departments and agencies to 'take all necessary steps to terminate remote work arrangements and require employees to return to work in-person at their respective duty stations on a full-time basis, provided that the department and agency heads shall make exemptions they deem necessary.'

A second statement said that any power government officials have 'is delegated by the President, and they must be accountable to the President.'

Experts say the aggregate effect of the changes will be to drive frustrated government employees out of their jobs, a goal the Trump team is explicitly gunning for.

Musk – who chairs DOGE – recently predicted that revoking 'the COVID-era privilege' of telework would trigger 'a wave of voluntary terminations that we welcome.'
