Robert Griffin III foreshadowed giving answers to his supporters days after getting fired by ESPN.

On Thursday, it was reported that Griffin and Sunday NFL Countdown host Samantha Ponder were both dismissed as the network approaches the conclusion of its fiscal year at the end of September.

Three days after being relieved of his duties, the NFL analyst took to social media to thank his fanbase for their support and hint transparency over his firing.

'As I sit here with my family on this beautiful day, we are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from you guys over the last past 72+ hours,' he wrote on X

'YOU GUYS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST.'

Robert Griffin teases 'answers' in a statement following his firing from ESPN on Thursday

Griffin was dismissed by the network after three years of working as an NFL analyst

'Your support means everything to us, and I can’t wait to connect with you all directly about everything,' Griffin continued. 'I'll be sitting down soon to chat with YOU, so make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel, drop all your questions here and under my latest video and I’ll be answering them soon.

'We’re honored that you love the way we cover sports, tell stories, and celebrate life. As a family we try to inspire people to be their best everyday, but it's YOU who inspire us to push even harder. Let's keep this journey going together.'

Griffin was hired by ESPN three years ago after gaining interest from the network and rival FOX Sports.

He was strongly considered to be ESPN's No 2 college football game analyst with Sean McDonough last season. However, the job ended up going to Greg McElroy.

Griffin expressed gratitude for his time at ESPN, he was fired with two years left in his deal

Samantha Ponder was also fired as ESPN approaches the conclusion of its fiscal year

Since then, Griffin’s stock had fallen - making him a prime candidate to be let go. While his seven-figure per year salary will be honored, his role has diminished to a point where ESPN decided against keeping him on despite having two years left in his deal.

After news of his firing surfaced, Griffin posted a clip from the movie 'Friday', in which John Witherspoon's character says: 'How the hell you get fired on your day off?'

Hours later, he posted a montage of himself reporting at a Clemson football game and expressed gratitude for his time at ESPN.

'There were so many awesome experiences and moments that my family and I will never forget from the last 3 years,' Griffin wrote. 'What people sometimes fail to realize is none of this is possible without you guys, the FANS.

'So THANK YOU to everyone who has supported my family through my playing days and broadcast career so far. We love you guys and will continue to seek and defend the truth while telling athletes’ stories the right way.'
